I have had the Mirena for well over 6 or 7 years (I'm on my second one). During this time, my acne has been difficult to control - especially on my back and chest. I was diagnosed with asthma when I was 9 years old. The asthma would come when I excercised and when I was around things that gave me allergies such as cats and pollen. The blood clot potential is very high relative to the same side effect in other birth control tablets. I think the testing process should be extended by the FDA to ensure consumer safety.

This was a very, very bad experience. I was completely unable to sleep longer than 1 hour at a time. Over the 5 months I was taking this, that sleep loss added up. I was tired all the time, could not eat due to severe nausea, and saw things that were not there (this was confirmed by my husband).
