I really like this medication, but my only complaint is the price. I really like that I don't have to remember to use it every day, and that it has no side effects except an improved skin complexion.

I've used Metformin for about two years now. I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), and was prescribed Metformin in order to help me keep my weight down and decrease my apatite; I am also on birth control. Both pills are keeping my menstrual cycle regular. The only thing that is bothersome about Metformin is that, for the first few days when starting up the pills, I get nauseous and have an upset stomach/diarrhea, but it's nothing that Pepto-Bismol can't handle.

When you are in intense pain-as I was you would do anything- If they had said they could cut my arm off I would have said yes please.This drug DID work for me- I was taking 600MG a day!! Didnt realise what a massive dose this was- It was brilliant for pain control but they dont tell you about withdrawral symptoms. my legs swelled and went heavy. I wasn't sleeping and not urinating freqently enough. my mother is 86 and has taken them for a long time with no side effects. my husband has just been prescribed them although he is not over weight and walks every day to work and around his work place his colestrol is 7.5. we have been healthy eating for a few years now so this has come as a bit of shock to him. About a year ago, I was told by my doctor to take it as a trial, because side effects of the tablet may reduce warts. After 2 weeks of taking it, there was no change to the primary condition, as I only experienced the side effects of serve stomach cramps, along with headaches. Since there was no change, my doctor said I can stop taking the medicine. Within a day the pains were gone. This was a very, very bad experience. I was completely unable to sleep longer than 1 hour at a time. Over the 5 months I was taking this, that sleep loss added up. I was tired all the time, could not eat due to severe nausea, and saw things that were not there (this was confirmed by my husband). I take this during the winter and whenever I'm around people who have colds, flu etc. It really seems to work well as a preventative. Once, when one child came home from school very sick with some croupy bug, my other child and I took Jade Screen for the duration, and my husband didn't. We both had just a slightly sore throat for half a day; he got really, really sick. Can't remember the last time I got a cold; and I used to get bronchitis regularly--but not anymore!
