M/W/A 57yrs 6'+ 235lbs, was put on Simcor Sept 2010, due for first CBC since medication started next week. My triglycerides were through the roof, 500+, LDL was only 179, but HDL was in the basement, so DR put me on 1000-20 Simcor. He warned me of the "flushing" as he put it, and wanted me to take it at bedtime to limit this side effect. I had been having a hard time breathing for a few months and, knowing that I had asthma, I decided to get a refill on my inhaler. ProAir HFA helped me finally catch my breath and I've been sleeping much easier and waking up feeling more rested. I also have the energy to get things done and I am no longer out of breath when going up a flight of stairs.

The blood clot potential is very high relative to the same side effect in other birth control tablets. I think the testing process should be extended by the FDA to ensure consumer safety.

Site reactions were very bad, lumps and bruises that lasted for weeks. I developed Raynaud's syndrome and had white fingers almost daily until I switched to Avonex, no more problems. The flu like symptoms were horrible and the day after I had NO energy so I ended up being sick most of the week.

I am using it for 6 weeks now, I whole thyroid was removed. I am experiencing headache, fatigue, my dosage is only 112, trying to find the right dosage. Does anyone know any natural thyroid replacement? Pls help. Millie
