Has to stop taking it after 6 months (dr suggested 1-1/2 years) I had so many side effects I thought I'd die!!

I take this during the winter and whenever I'm around people who have colds, flu etc. It really seems to work well as a preventative. Once, when one child came home from school very sick with some croupy bug, my other child and I took Jade Screen for the duration, and my husband didn't. We both had just a slightly sore throat for half a day; he got really, really sick. Can't remember the last time I got a cold; and I used to get bronchitis regularly--but not anymore!

I am taking Proscar (finasteride) in its non-prescribed use as a hair loss drug. After taking it for 6 months, I have seen an effective stop to my hair loss, and an increase in the density of my hair in the front. New vellous (small/white) hairs are popping up around my scalp, and some of them continue to darken. the pil has been affective. I took it for about 8 or 9 years. I am no longer on it and have had my colesterol checked and my HDL was low and I have read articles that says that may be due to the birth control pill.
