My mother, age 85, was taking Prednisone for pulmonary fibrosis and it caused congestive heart failure and she died about 3 wks after she started taking it. It also had a host of other unpleasant side effects, but death trumped those. It made her irritable, prone to emotional outbursts, skin breaking open and oozing, and more. Gordon Caldwell Fund

I have never had hallucinations in my life. I'm a 39 yr old female and was taking it for severe sinusitus and ear infections which I have been battling since this spring due to allergies. My Dr. gave me xyzal. I am an extremely calm, rational person. Sever rash sometimes occurs around the 9th day of treatment, it clears within 10 days following. Found it increased my total cholesterol mildly. Took 8 months on this drug to reach undetectable.
