Hey, I am starting to think about the side-effects of Depakine in the long term - the slowdown of brain fucntion, hair-loss, later kidney and liver demage and concentration. I am only 28 now, was 25 at the first episode. And I am really aware of the long-term slowdown of the brain.

Maxalt works great if you take it right when you start feeling a migraine coming! It does make me sleepy and have to urinate a lot but I'd rather that then the migraine. However, since I've been put on Topamax, I'm not sure the Maxalt works right anymore. I've only had to take the Maxalt once since my doctor allowed me to have both again, so it may have just been a rogue migraine. Hopefully with the next one it will work.

I like using Midol for menstrual cramps and I've used it for several years. It usually works but it wasn't enough to relieve my cramps the few times that I've had severe pain.

**** keep in mind that I have a pretty strong anxiety disorder, femcon has exasperated it but in no way cause it. my stats: taking it for three weeks to help with my acne, 27 years old, good health, was on orthricycline low 3 years ago without any problems. Advil liqui-gels are effective quickly in treating headaches, toothaches, menstrual cramps, etc.They are convenient and safe with little to no side effects (for me). I use it whenever I have pain, and the pain usually subsides within an hour or two and lasts that way for at least 4 hours.
