As a physician, I've fielded numerous complaints from my patients indicating Proair was not an effective rescue inhaler. AS a result, I no longer prescribe it. Suffering from reactive airway disease (RADs) myself, I need to use an inhaler on occassion, and was given Proair recently. It just doesn't work. Period. My concern is this - how many lives have been put in jeopardy by patients desparate for relief of acute symptoms, and finding no reiief w/ the use of Proari in an emergent setting?

In 1984 I was given a single dose (as in One Time Only) of leritine IV push for severe pain and was knocked out for about 4 hours. When I awoke I was legally blind as in almost total darkness; I was later diagnosed with bilateral wet macular degeneration and bilateral neovascularization, the latter of which required laser surgery to arrest its progression. Doctor just kind of prescribed this medication for me after looking at some of my blood work. I am not always sure why I have to take it, hopefully the doctor will take me off it the next time I go in.

Although the drug did it's job is lessening the pain, I am always very reluctant to take it because of how drowsy it makes me. Although I can tolerate it better, I still feel like I am movie extremely slowly compared to everyone/everything else when I take the medication.
