I was fine at 500 mg/day. When my doctor increased me to 1000 mg/day I developed severe abdominal pain and vomiting, requiring hospitalization, after 4 days of use.

I have suffered from asthma all my life and used to use Albuterol before it was reformulated. The proair did not work at all for me. It did not puff out of the countainer far enough to be effective. I now use Xopenex HFA and it worked much much better than Proair HFA. I was very unsatisfied with the Proair.

I started taking advair 250 because of coughing and some wheezing at night. It stopped the coughing and improved seasonal allergies, initially. Could not get into a deep sleep. Advair caused me to have an incredibly dry mouth. It lowered my immune system. I rarely get sick. I was sick constantly, I would just get better and would get sick again immediately. See my mother's Alz experience above. She got into trouble with only 3/4 of a .5 mg tab a day. When I insisted Mom be sedated for invasive procedures at a hospital ER room, they figured they'd give her a full day's allowed dose at once, so that would be 1.5 mg. That put her in LaLa land allright. I was grateful they used it on this occasion. Overuse of this drug could have stopped her breathing. 22 mg in one day. Good grief.
