Besides being ineffective, I am sufering from severe "brain zaps" while still taking the medication. I am also suffering from debilitating fatigue. This drug is not worth it and I'm afraid to come off of it due to the terrible withdrawals.

Alprazolam is the finest and most effective BZD for anxiety and panic on the market and also the ONLY benzodiazepine (of the triazolo- class) recommended for people with a history of depression. The problem in the USA is that there are hundreds of brands/generics, but only TWO which would be deemed acceptable quality by European patients - original branded XANAX and the GREENSTONE generics. Started out with 50mg 2x daily for a week, with no improvement. 2nd week took 75mg 2x daily with some good improvement in numbness/tingling. Third wee took 100mg 2xdaily and was so dizzy, could not walk in straight line. Had to hold on to the wall to walk. Only took 3 doses and had to stop. Went back to 50mg till I can get off it. Ataivan works better but does cause some drowziness.
