M/W/A 57yrs 6'+ 235lbs, was put on Simcor Sept 2010, due for first CBC since medication started next week. My triglycerides were through the roof, 500+, LDL was only 179, but HDL was in the basement, so DR put me on 1000-20 Simcor. He warned me of the "flushing" as he put it, and wanted me to take it at bedtime to limit this side effect. Coartem is not like nivaquine ( another medication that I used to take for malaria) which used to itch me seriously. The main disturbing side effects are that it makes me tired and dizzy. A part from that, it is a good medication.

Very effective at first. It gave me very vivid dreams, and sometimes it seemed like I was dreaming before I was actually asleep. One night, once I started feeling relaxed, I thought I was in a hallway filled with macaroni and cheese. There were times when, as I was falling asleep/just waking up, I couldn't tell if I was asleep or awake--sometimes I thought I was awake, and it turned out I was dreaming and vice versa.

I've been on many of the meds for Anxiety/stress...Zoloft, Effexor, Lexapro....All with about the same side effects, Lexapro with the least. I was given samples of Pritiq about 10 days ago and these past 10 days have been pretty wierd. I haven't had the urge, nor have I been able to force myself, to do anything. I feel like I can barely lift my arms. Been pretty nauseated. My anxiety is pretty much gone, but so is my personality. I'm switching back to Lexapro. The reason I switched over... View full comment

THIS DRUG SHOULD NOT BE ON THE MARKET!!! It causes PERMANENT sexual dysfunction, swelling, fatigue, depression and sleep problems. Contrary to what Merck claims: these side-effects are NOT temporary. There should be a full investigation into how this drug got approved. It has completely destroyed my life! In 2003, I attempted to commit suicide as a direct result of the drug's after-effects. Other people are telling similar stories on the internet.
