I used this drug in my insulin pump. I have to take a bolus and a recommended amount prescribed by my doctor according to my A1C. In my opinion it is not much different from the insulin I take now. The only reason I changed insulin is because my new insulin was more readily available to my endocrinologist.

The initial hair loss was much more than I expected - probably half my hair if I judged by the thickness of my ponytail and lasted longer than expected probably 9 months from the start of my taking it. I didn't notice it too much for the first 4-5 months but I was also taking prednisone then. After I stopped the prednisone about 6 months in with the Imuran the hair loss became pronounced. I don't feel jittery or nervous, or have heart palpitations like I got when I tried Albuterol. I felt HORRIBLE when I tried albuterol. It was like I was having a panic attack, or had to much caffiene. Xopenex doesn't do that. Plus, I got up a couple nights and used my inhaler and felt fine. I did the same w/ Albuterol neb and couldn't go back to sleep.

I use a mix of drugs as preventive for my "Cluster" condition one is Topamax. At first I was on 250mg and it was terrible as I lost weight, dizzy, total lack of concentration and at time could not even remember my telephone number or home address. I would tell someone to take it because it makes me feel better. I after I eat and my reflux is controlled. Even when I eat food that causes more reflux, my reflux is well controlled with the Prilosec OTC.
