Benadryl is a very fast-acting medication and is 100% effective in my case. However, within a half an hour, I am knocked out as a result of the drowsiness effect. I usually sleep for long hours after taking the medication and feel groggy and lazy once waking up. Although my allergies are cleared up, I don't like sleeping the rest of the day or the feeling I get after waking up.

My 15 year old daughter got 2 out of the 3 required Gardasil shots in the fall of 2009. Two weeks after her first shot, we were in the emrgency room with severe abdominal pain, weeks of tests showed nothing wrong, after her second shot the paid increased and caused a new pain in her back. We again went to ER more weeks of tests - nothing. I am now trying this, have not taken the pills now for a couple of days, (because I love to sleep and it was keeping me up all day, and then I would go to bed around 10:30 p.m. ) so I am back to being cold. I even slept in the day for 3 blissful hours. Does anyone out there knows if this is a problem going on or off the meds like that? Let me know!
