I've been taking this medication for almost 2 years now. It is absolutely great in controlling my acne and I haven't seen improvements like this with anything else. It is extremely effective and works almost immediately. I wouldn't know what to do without it. Apart from the dry lips and skin, and frequent thirst, the medicine does induce depression in me, to the extent of people asking if something is wrong. I suffered Panic Attacks, Depression, Anxiety, Heart Palpitations, ans convulsions while using microgestin for 5 years. I lived in a state of shock all day every day. I was in and out of emergancy rooms and doctors offices. I did not know that microgestin was causing all of my symptoms until I stopped taking it 4 months ago. I've used other over the counter stuff such as abreva, blistex, among other stuff, but nothing comes close to Herplex. As soon as I feel a burning sensation on my lip I take the Herplex and within 3-4 days is dry and gone..

Well it worked to prevent pregnancy because there was no way I could've gotten pregnant when I couldn't even have sex since I basically had my period for a month!
