I can't imagine taking this for another 4 years. It was hard enough to get through cancer treatments, but to have to deal with this on top of all that is unconceivable. Trying to keep my vigor and conviction to heal, but without sleep and so much pain it is difficult to say the least. I have gained weight and try to excercise but I now have tears in the miniscus of both knees and looking at surgery for that. I also have arthritis in both knees I didn't have before. I am very happy with Lamictal as I have been able to come off of another mood stabiliser (which was causing unwanted side effects) .. it is much more effective for my condition ( Bi polar disorder) .. this medication does not affect my libido like other medication either... the only problem is that it is not a government subsidized medication as it is not recognised as a medication needed for bi polar disorder and so is very expensive... I'VE HAD A WEIGHT PROBLEM FOR A LONG TIME. HOWEVER, RISPERDAL DOES SEEM TO AGGRAVATE THIS. WITHOUT MY RISPERDAL I GET VERY PARANOID AND ANXIOUS. WITH MY RISPERDAL I CAN FUNCTION AND HAVE A SENSE OF PERSPECTIVE AND HUMOR. DRY MOUTH IS PREEETY BAD IN THE NIGHT. ALSO MAY CAUSE STUFFY NOSE ALTHOUGH I AM PROBABLY ALLERGIC TO MANY DIFFERENT SUBSTANCES. KNOWN ARE DUST AND POLLEN. SATISFACTORY GENERICS ARE AVAILABLE.
