Hey, I am starting to think about the side-effects of Depakine in the long term - the slowdown of brain fucntion, hair-loss, later kidney and liver demage and concentration. I am only 28 now, was 25 at the first episode. And I am really aware of the long-term slowdown of the brain.

At first I noticed some hair loss, thought it may be stress. After what was causing stress went away I was still losing handfuls of hair. I was trying hair loss shampoo, went to the Dr's who said maybe diabetes; got tested for that, nope. I started getting super depressed, not that hair is everything, but it for sure is a confidence killer to be balding. No history of balding in the family either for men or women. Taking Lupron shots to make me go into menapause so I can take Aromasin for breast cancer. Fatigue is bad. Hot flashes, sweats, chills, fever off and on, depression is bad, now my hands/fingers are numb/tingling and hurt. I hate this drug. For 4 days after I get the shot I am in bed, I cry and I"m depressed and I feel so sick like I have the flu and I hurt all over. I think this drug is killing me.

When you are in need for such a medication. The price should be affordable. You don`t have a 30 mg so we have to buy a 10 and a 20 which is ridiculous in price.
