The generic name of this medication is acetaminophen/phenylephrine and brand name is Excedrin Sinus Headache and Vicks DayQuil Sinus.

The active ingredient of this medication is dextromethorphan hbr 15 mg.

Vicks DayQuil is manufactured by Procter & Gamble.

Mainly used in relieving symptoms such as pain and sinus congestion due to colds, upper respiratory tract infections and allergies.

This medication is used in relieving symptoms such as pain and sinus congestion due to colds, upper respiratory tract infections and allergies.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Constipation
Diarrhea
Dizziness
Drowsiness
Excitability
Headache
Loss of appetite
Nausea
Nervousness or anxiety
Trouble sleeping
Upset stomach
Vomiting
Weakness

Cautions / Warnings:

Not advisable in patients allergic to any ingredient in Vicks DayQuil Sinus.
Not advisable in patients with severe high blood pressure, severe heart blood vessel disease, rapid heartbeat.
Not advisable in patients on furazolidone or a monoamine oxidase inhibitor.
Not advisable during pregnancy, pre-pregnancy and in nursing mothers.

Drug Interactions:
Beta-blockers (propranolol)
Catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitors such as tolcapone
Anticoagulants (warfarin)
Bromocriptine
Guanadrel
Mecamylamine
Hydantoins (phenytoin)
