I was given the first 2 rounds of injections at the advice of my OB/Gyn after the birth of my son. My health insurance then lapsed, so I had to wait on the third. I am 28 years old, and just had my first abnormal pap ever after having these injections. Upon further testing, I was diagnosed with high risk HPV (not sure of the exact strain). Norethindrone has regulated my menstral cycles to normal lengths of time. However I have added 15lbs of weight since I began taking. (about 40-45 days ago) Extreme bloating has occured since using Norethindrone. Is there an altenative to this drug that will not cause the above side effects

It needs to be addressed that this drug can help you and hurt you all at the same time...god forbid you try to get off this drug...its extremely hard...I never ever had cravings to drink..and this stuff made me want to drink like you'd want a chocolate bar or coffee and you know I had to give in..now i'm fighting coming off this drug and the desire for alcohol...neither of which are fun...I have been sober for 6 weeks now...and I can only imagine what this drug has done to my already damaged... Ever since Zyrtec removed the ephedrine and went OTC, the stuff makes me borderline narcoleptic. Is there a prescription strength version that puts the pep back in?
