I was prescribed dexamethasone for severe inflammation in my tonsils when I had mononucleosis. I was unable to swallow and had difficulty breathing due to my enlarged tonsils, but the dexamethosone improved the swelling significantly very quickly. It made me very hungry, but I had also lost a lot of weight from my illness, so this side effect was not bad for me. I do not like this drug. I feel like I'm having a heart attack sometimes, my hormones are out of whack, I'm having problems with being able to urinate. My vision is blurry. I cant exercize cuz my heart rate drops and I get winded and dizzy. I just don't feel good. I am having problems with my memory as well.

I've had eczema since I was in the third grade and I had a flare that no lotion or ointment worked on. I was prescribed Prednisolone to treat my eczema and as soon as the next day, my flare began to improve. The downside is you can only use this treatment for a few days but after the week or so that you're on it, lotion and ointments can be used for minor flares.

Having been on Lymecycline for almost 10 years now I am only now seeing a connection with memory loss around words: I often remember only the first letter of the word I want (like having a stroke!), or remember it 24 hours later or else the wrong word comes out. I have been worried about greater memory loss the longer I am on these things and only found out by experimenting by coming off them for a week - boy did my conversations flow then - no stumbling over words!
