About Retin-A Micro
Retin-A Micro or tretinoin gel, microsphere, 0.1% and 0.04%, is a formula that consists of 0.1% or 0.04%, by weight, tretinoin used for topical treatment of acne vulgaris. This formulation uses patented methyl methacrylate/glycol dimethacrylate crosspolymer porous microspheres that inclulde active ingredient, tretinoin, in an aqueous gel form. In addition to the above, Retin-A Micro contains purified water, carbomer 974P (0.04% formulation), carbomer 934P (0.1% formulation), glycerin, disodium EDTA, propylene glycol, sorbic acid, PPG-20 methyl glucose ether distearate, cyclomethicone and dimethicone copolyol, benzyl alcohol, trolamine, and butylated hydroxytoluene. Retin-A Micro is mostly recommended as a topical treatment for acne vulgaris. Results of using Retin-A Micro will be noticable within fifteen days of using this application, however, over seven weeks of treatment is necessary to realize the maximum benefits of this application. People using Retin-A Micro can use cosmetics, however, the regions requiring treatment need to washed and cleaned thoroughly prior to applying this gel.
About Tretinoin
Tretinoin is the acid form of vitamin A and so also known as all-trans retinoic acid or ATRA. It is a drug commonly used to treat acne vulgaris and keratosis pilaris. It is available as a cream or gel (brand name Retin-A). It is also used to treat acute promyelocytic leukemia (APML).
