Treatment Information
The generic names of Benzaclin is clindamycin phosphate and benzoyl peroxide, which are also the active ingredients of Benzaclin. It is used primarily in the treatment of acne vulgaris. It is a topical product meant for external use only. Benzoyl peroxide functions by decreasing the inflammation caused by acne and also discards the oily residue found in people suffering from acne vulgaris. Clindamycin functions like an antibiotic and combats the bacteria, decreasing the swelling of the pimples.

The inactive ingredients of Benzaclin are carbomer, sodium hydroxide, dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate and water.

It is also used in the treatment of whiteheads, blackheads and pimples.

It is manufactured by Sanofi-Aventis.
