I started on Levothyroxine. but switched to Tirosint because my pharmacy didn't carry Levo. And since then, all of my symptoms that I had before I was even diagnosed have come back. Ive put on more weight, I have horrible acne, my skin is dry again, hair falling out, painful/stiff neck. Unfortunately, I have had a real problem with hormonal birth control. I'm currently taking Microgestin, and while I'm kind of miserable on it, it's not as bad as what I experienced with Ortho. My only real complaint is that I have developed contact lens intolerance, and get red, gritty, painful eyes every time I wear my lenses for more than one day at a time. I felt like I had taken the wrong medicine. I got worse. for about 2 weeks and then for another3-4 weeks of and on I had attacks. the anxiety was the worst I ever had. AWESOME STUFF. Currently I use as a drug of choice in almost every sickness (head, cold, flu, etc.). Seems that Tylenol has a positive effect on immunity system. It gives it strength to fight the bugs. Oher drugs don't seem to have as much effect as tylenol does. I am not sure if it is some kind of ingredient combination that works well with my body or if it just a good and effective drug. Either way it tremendously help me when I am sick.

Changing to this synthetic analogue, described to me as "the greatest thing for Type 1 diabetics" by my diabetic team was a decision I now deeply regret. The side effects were extremely debilitating - extreme fatigue, memory loss, joint & muscle pain, feeling as if I was in a foggy toxic state all the time despite good HBA1c results. Tarka is a great drug but I don't recommend buying it. The drug companies are way too proud of it and increase the price to the point that it is not affordable. The greed is sickening. Instead of paying $160 a month just get your doctor to prescribe Trandolapril + Verapamil hydrochloride separately. Two pills but the total cost is around $17 a month.
