Although not strictly a benzodiazepine etizolam shares similar pharmacological properties. My professional opinion is that one should treat it with similar caution, i.e. avoid constant long-term use, use the minimum dose that provides a satisfactory response, either relief from a panic attack, disabling anxiety or the onset of sleep and NEVER exceed the maximum daily dose, 2mg/Day, that appears in the product literature. I am older, in my forties, and when I found out a friend my age got the vaccine, I decided to consider it. I have had bad asthma since birth and the old cheap inhalers worked amazing - not with proair. Recently my asthma has been getting worse with the change of season. This was the last treatment prescribed after calcium blockers swelled my lower extremities and had ghout after my other treatments. . I felt better with bendroflurazide but after gout which I had been prone to (my first attack at 18 after a glass of port!) My GP would not prescribe again for me. But my blood pressure was down to 135 with benfdrofuazide. Which I would prefer to go back to and put up with the severe pain of GOUT!!
