I also developed RA after my Gardasil shots. I was a competitive dance my entire life and was completely healthy. It took a YEAR for doctors to figure out I had RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS..doctors thought my joints were flaring up because I was an athlete. I hear more stories like mine everyday. We need to have more girls make the connection between Gardasil and RA. This is not fair! I am 19 years old and have to give myself a shot weekly so I can walk.

My name is Kylie, I am 19. I had my first Gardasil shot at age 16 on 4/5/07 and have been sick ever since. To start, this is the most painful shot I've ever experienced. I immediately felt nauseous and nearly passed out while walking to the bathroom to vomit. Tylenol is fairly effective for me when treating headaches and other pain related problems. However, it usually takes longer to work than Excedrin or Advil. I prefer Advil over other pain relievers.

Went to the doctor after about two years of being in constant bummed-out moods. He diagnosed me with dysthymia (mild, chronic depressed state), and prescribed me with Celexa. After about a year, my moods are much improved and normalized, I can concentrate on tasks better, and I don't dwell on negative experiences. The main issue with the medication is that I think it makes me a bit more tired, though I have always required a lot of sleep.
