After finding out I had Graves Disease and thyrotoxicosis in January 2010 I was put on carbimazole (think I had symptoms for nearly a year but always put them down to something else, maybe "change of life" etc) After only 6 days I had a severe allergic reaction to the carbimazole that nearly lost me my life! am a Diabetic. In 2002 I was Damaged by Gentamicin and Clindamycin IV Antibiotics and had Muscle and Bone Pain really bad. I have Very Bad Vertigo. I was given oxybuprocaine to numb my eyes at an opthamology eye exam, after receiving the drops I started to have convulsions. My head was completely bent back, my eyes were rolling in the back of my head and I was grinding my teeth. The convulsions lasted for hours on the day of the eye exam and returned sporadically the next day.
