During the short time that I took Pristiq, I felt as though I was having an "out of body experience" and was no longer connected to the world. Starting on day 1, had bad metallic taste in mouth, nausea, and chest discomfort-indigestion all day long. Started taking probiotic on day 3, also began taking pills with a half-glass of milk instead of water, and sipping on gingerale/ nibbling saltine crackers during the day - symptoms much milder now except the metallic taste is still strong. Am just finishing day 5.

I use this ingredient as part of an Ayurvedic Sleep tea. This combination of Holy Basil, common herbs and Ashwaganda and Gotu Kola has helped greatly with my sleep problems. Insomnia used to be a problem 3-4 times a week. Now it is rare to occasional.

Changing to this synthetic analogue, described to me as "the greatest thing for Type 1 diabetics" by my diabetic team was a decision I now deeply regret. The side effects were extremely debilitating - extreme fatigue, memory loss, joint & muscle pain, feeling as if I was in a foggy toxic state all the time despite good HBA1c results.
