I had Vinblastine Sulfate as a part of my chemotherapy regimen. Together with all of the medicines I lost my appetite, was nauseous, and I gained 20 pounds due to steroids. (This was about 2 years ago).

Loestrin has no major side effects which is great. I enjoy taking birth control that does not throw me off or affect me. Birth control should only regulate my cycle and prevent pregnancy and Loestrin does just that.

I take 2g per day for pseudotumor cerebri, so I know that is a lot. Diamox has helped my high pressure headaches and helped keep most of the PTC symptoms at bay, however, it does have some issues of its own. Before I began taking a potassium supplement, my energy level was greatly decreased, my blood pressure was EXTREMELY low (about 86/50) on a regular basis and I would experience leg cramps as well as stabbing pains in both my feet and my hands. This is the only medication that helped me get rid of my flu, and I would highly recommend it to anybody. Concerning the side effects, I think it depends on the individual. For me, it didn't cause me that much trouble.

The drug is highly effective and considered low risk. However, I tend to take medication only if it is really required. Otherwise, I try to avoid it if I can resist the fever/pain.
