Although not strictly a benzodiazepine etizolam shares similar pharmacological properties. My professional opinion is that one should treat it with similar caution, i.e. avoid constant long-term use, use the minimum dose that provides a satisfactory response, either relief from a panic attack, disabling anxiety or the onset of sleep and NEVER exceed the maximum daily dose, 2mg/Day, that appears in the product literature. I was nervous to get the Mirena because I typically do not do well with any dose of hormones. The only birth control method that has worked for me in the past is the Paragard but unfortunately after about 6 months, my body rejected it. I absolutely love the Mirena and plan to use it until I am ready to get pregnant. I am 25 and have never had children. If you have severe Atopic Dermatitis, I would not recommend taking Elidel. I noticed no change whatsoever during my treatment. My stress level actually increased from wasting my time and money on such a useless product.
