I have never had any problem achieving orgasm in my entire life and I am now 63 (female, athletic, in shape). This drug, at only 10MG/day, has left me a basket case. I cannot achieve orgasm no matter what I do and it's like walking around with a constant physical need that can't be satisfied. I even have SEX DREAMS!! This is beyond awful. I couldn't have asked for a better med. I had tried a couple of other meds whose side effects were too bothersome and by far Lamicatal has been the best. I don't feel sedated, I've experienced almost no side effects, and I feel in control and level headed. I was very sleepy when I first started taking it but that didn't last long.

I am not sure if it is the medication that is causing my mood swings or something else. I do not feel well though, and constantly have difficulty with acid reflux and slight nausea.

Doctors seem to hand this stuff out like candy to kids. When my kid started with asthma we went alternative and got her off the drugs ASAP--I really regret getting hooked on Ventolin all those years ago. My daughter is fine now--no symptoms at all. Her doctor was really thrilled and really surprised. She was off meds in 3 months after being really bad, and with a family history...I was lucky he was supportive; most docs aren't.
