After my two surgeries (few years apart) I received Vicodin on both occasions and yes, it did take away a great majority of the pain, however, i was puking nonstop due to the nausea that my doc only advised me to take if absolutely necessary since I was so sick due to it. Every time I'm sick I take Mucinex D. It really does take out all of the infection in my chest and throat. It really does bring it all up. It helps you cough and makes you feel better once you stop coughing. I would recommend it for everyone when they have congestion in the chest or throat.
