I went off this drug this morning and am looking forward to not bleeding for a month straight at a time (I think of the 3 ½ months i've been on it, i've bled for 2 ½ - 3 months). I certainly won't miss severe mood swings (or crying jags). I have't gained weight - but i've had a tough time loosing it. I wonder how long it will take for my system to get back to "normal".

I play a lot of sports and only take this as needed which is 1 to 2 tablets per week (50mg/tablet). I find it very effective for my lifestyle in helping me enjoy playing as hard as I do. I find Ultram to be quite effective at controlling pain from sports injuries for considerably longer than vicodin with reduced dry mouth, reduced constipation, less inflamation and I remain more mentally alert.

I have fibromyalgia and was very hopeful while taking this medicaiton but to tell you the truth my life was a living hell. I found myself in a deep dark place I had never been before, I think if it wasn't for my faith I don't know what this medication would have caused me to do. This has helped amazingly. I no longer get the painful cramps I used to get and I'm less moody during that time of month. Only side effect has been a very dry vagina. Makes sex tough sometimes, but not all the time.

I'm 17 and I've been on Ortho Tri Cyclen for about a month now. I finished the first pack yesterday... (today I started the generic) Well, it helped with my acne and my mood is fine, but I have been on my period for 28 days. Accutane is a great drug to control acne. My acne has almost cleared up completely from using the drug. My side-effects are dry, itchy skin and dry eyes. I believe the positives outweigh the negatives in my case.
