I have been off of this birth control for about 4 months. A couple of weeks ago I noticed my hair on the top/front of my head begin to thin. Recently it has become very thin. In certain lights you can clearly see my scalp. After reading quite a few articles on the internet I am starting to think my discontinuation of Ortho Tri Cyclen could be the reason. I have become extremely depressed over my thinning hair. I am afraid it will continue to get worse until I am entirely bald!

I've been plagued by severe clinical depression, anxiety and bipolar disorders for 20 years. I've been prescribed several combinations of medications but have had very few periods of relief. Based on my experience I'd recommend that you consider whether to avoid the vaccine or wait for further testing, expecially if you have a family history of autoimmune disease. For me, my vaccine with Gardasil was followed by or triggered an auto immune reaction- arthritis, fatigue, painful swelling of joints, etc.

I take it whenever I need it, sometimes with ibuprofen, and it always helps. Without food though, I get nauseous.

Benadryl is a great medicine to stop an allergic reaction. I take the 12.5 childrens grape chewables and usually only need to take one to stop my reaction. The only downfall is it makes me a little sleepy
