Lolav, I find that for sleep the alternative therapies work better and with less side effects then the pharmaceutical approach. I suggest you check with a health food store to see what they recommend. Valerian is good and so is just plain old hot milk before bed. There are stronger Ayurvedic or Chinese herbs that you can Google- some are common and some you have to go to India for. Using kariva helped my greatly- of course the birth control benefits were great, but it helped my periods become more regular with a fairly low dosage as far as birth control goes.

the first time i tried it, it was FANTASTIC - but my blood pressure shot up and i was taken off - i got my blood pressure down. about a year later, i was so lethargic from Paxil, I promised to watch my blood pressure if i could take Effexor again, but it didn't feel as FANTASTIC - it was just OK.

I was prescriped Niaspan, but since I do not have drug insurance, the cost was prohibitive. I searched the web for a lower cost niacin and decided to try the Endur-acin because it was also extended release, came in 500mg doses, the cost for 500 tablets was $42.00, and other user comments made me feel it would be just as good.
