Severe hypertension from childhood. Medicated since 1963. Anaphalactic shock due to medication in 1996 resulted in medication change to Micardis HCT. Five years ago, dosage reduced by half due to excellent control. Now 77 years old, very healthy, active, walk 4 miles per day in 70 minutes. Least amount of side effects of any medication I have taken in 47 years.

My daughter is 15 and had her first shot 3 weeks ago and has had sever pain in her right leg.The pain starts at the joints and than shout up and now it is going up her right side lower back. She has had all kinds of test and can not fine any thing but the shot was givin on that side . How long dose the pain last? Know one has said how long the side effacts last and will it keep going up to her arm. Please help.

My doctor recommended Lantus. It is more expensive and less effective than the NPH I was taking. I was on 2 injections per day before Lanus. Now I have to take short acting insulin before each mean and Lantus before bed. I feel like a pin cushion and my blood sugars are no better. Taking the extra insulin has caused weight gain. I was pissed when my insurance company pretty much forced me to buy the generic (a 3 month supply of ortho lo is $115 vs.$10 for the generic). Being a student, I can no longer afford the name brand BC I trust! HOWEVER, since being on tri-sprintec lo, I have not had ANY side effects. It's just like being on Ortho tri cyclen lo - minus the cool click pack. It's only been one month so far, but, so far, so good. My advice: try it, it just may not be the end of the world! I have been taking Synthriod 50 mcg Tablets for a year and a half. So far it has help me to get some energy back and helped with my muscle and joint pain. I have not had any bad side effect form this medicine.
