My doctor, after drawing and evaluating my blood, suggested that I take an iron supplement. The supplement was an over the counter one, having 150% of the daily value of iron needed in a healthy diet. Since I hardly need meat, she suggested that I buy something with a percentage that high. My 15 year old son has ADHD. He has been on numerous stimulants over the years as well as Strattera. The stimulants caused decreased weight and appetitie and increased frustration. Used for pain relief - Atypical facial pain - Having tried Amitripyline and Carbamozole without sucess (limited pain relief and too many side effects) I find I tolerate Dosulepin well and have acheived about 80% relief at a dose of 75mg per day.

I have been on 150mg's for around 8weeks.My sleep did improve greatly,so I felt much better due to this. My depression did improve alot,and I felt able to cope.The side effects that were trouble -some were severe constipation,and very dry,sore throat & mouth mostly during the night/day. I have come off them now because my sleep /depression are starting to get sadly worse.
