Last year while I had the H1N1 virus (didn't know it was the virus at the time, I had it prior to all the publicity) I was taking Zicam to relieve the sinus congestion that I had. I may have taken it a little longer than prescribed because what I had was not going away, nasty flu. Anyway I did get better but I have lost my sense of smell! It's been over a year now and it still has not come back.

I was really against taking this drug to begin with. I've tried to keep a positive HOPE that this would help me. I have worse symptoms and can't differentiate what is symptomatic of the disease or the drug. The endocrine system is so complex and effects many other body systems. Was prescribed this drug for acute bronchitis. Was coughing severely. After start of treatment, I felt as if I were tearing avery tendon in my chest wall and back. 5 wks later, am still unable to move well or pick up even slightly heavy objects. When I sneeze, I still feel as if I'm tearing tissues in my chest wall. Did not seem effective on my bronchitis. This SHOULD NOT BE PRESCRIBED FOR ACUTE COUGHING!
