On mornings where my eyes won't open I pop in a reditab and within an hour the allergies go away and my eyes don't ithc. It does make me thirsty for awhile afterwards but I jsut carry a bottle of water with me anyways.

I took Xyzal back on April 20th and April 21 only to find myself in the hospital. I only took 2 5mg tablets and had 5 days of hallcinations. My 2 sisters took me to the ER where they said it was a reaction to the medication. It was like being on drugs. First time i have tried mucinex, usually fight off broncititus atleast twice a year, yes each major weather change spring and fall. Usually takes me 3 weeks to finally get back in gear each time. Tried mucinex this time took the extended release type 600 twice a day, it worked BUT I do have a warning to pass along. I thought the Zyglamend was working really well for my inflammation from rheumatoid arthritis, and I was still taking only 1 tablet per day, working my way up to 2 per day. But the diarrhea and heache was there everyday. Then the headache was so bad I could barely move, so I took my blood pressure and found it had shot up dangerously high (179/112). I love this kind of Vicks! It's perfect for clearing up my nose during allergy season. I can also see clearer and my sneezing and itchy throat are all gone. I've only had good experiences with Vick's.

Even at the highest recommended dose, it doesn't work a full 24 hours. It does cause extreme drowsiness about 30 minutes to an hour after taking, so I take mine at bedtime. It is also quite expensive if you don't have insurance.
