About 2 hours after taking the pill every morning I'm in a bad mood and it stays that way for most of the day. I have noticed that I am feeling more depressed and irritable... totally not me. It needs to be addressed that this drug can help you and hurt you all at the same time...god forbid you try to get off this drug...its extremely hard...I never ever had cravings to drink..and this stuff made me want to drink like you'd want a chocolate bar or coffee and you know I had to give in..now i'm fighting coming off this drug and the desire for alcohol...neither of which are fun...I have been sober for 6 weeks now...and I can only imagine what this drug has done to my already damaged... It's working on my Prostate Cancer, lowering my PSA from 141 to 75 in one month. Nothing else is working on this aggrressive cancer. Doctors sayif it And it is, that I can add another year to my life. And that's better than the two months or so that I was looking at.

Before taking Topamax I had about 3-4 serious migraines a month--nausea, sensitivity, etc--and almost daily minor ones. Since taking it I hardly get the daily migraines and I only still get about one migraine a month due to my menstrual cycle. I have lost over 10 lbs on the drug (I am now 98-100lbs depending at 5'3") but my doctor doesn't think this isn't a major concern. I have been pleased with the results - Dr. prescribed Valtrex to "shorten" any outbreaks, but so far, have not had any outbreaks. I had been taking 1 gm pill for about two months, then lessened the dosage to .5 gm.
