It worked better than Cymbalta, but does not come close to the efficacy of Effexor XR. I was hoping for mood improvement like Effexor XR used to provide, but all I experienced was a mild improvement over the Cymbalta. Disappointed overall with its performance and ready to try something else.

I took Candex for three days, one capsule in the morning with a very large glass of water. I am very sensitive to all kinds of medicine, so I was prepared for the worst. The only thing that seems related in time to the Candex doses was the veins in my hands and fingers dilating (getting really big), making my hands ache and my fingers and palms itch. Six weeks with a Chinese MD acupucturist/herbalist drastically reduced my rapid heart rate, shakes and in general improved symptoms. If you can find a good Chinese-trained one, try acupuncture. Its not a cure but may be good for symptom control. Research at Harvard has shown it is effective for womens hormone problems and back pain.

I found ibuprofen to be oustanding for relieving inflamation & pain. Unfortunately, it made my heart race and/or beat irregularly, so I had to stop using it.
