In 1984 I was given a single dose (as in One Time Only) of leritine IV push for severe pain and was knocked out for about 4 hours. When I awoke I was legally blind as in almost total darkness; I was later diagnosed with bilateral wet macular degeneration and bilateral neovascularization, the latter of which required laser surgery to arrest its progression. I've been taking this medication for almost 2 years now. It is absolutely great in controlling my acne and I haven't seen improvements like this with anything else. It is extremely effective and works almost immediately. I wouldn't know what to do without it. Apart from the dry lips and skin, and frequent thirst, the medicine does induce depression in me, to the extent of people asking if something is wrong. I am a Dane, 31 years old, female, and been taking Keppra for about 3 months. It is the only antiepileptic drug I have been taking, and I have not been taking it with other kinds of medication. My dosis started with 500mg twice a day, for two days, and then it was lowered (due to vertigo) to 250mg twice a day. It is now 1:40 am and I cannot get to sleep after taking Mucinex DM. I went to bed at 9:00pm. It is making me feel jittery and like another person who posted in November I can understand how they would feel anxious. I am also dehydrated. I will not be taking this medication again. I think I would get more sleep if I just coughed through the night.
