At first I noticed some hair loss, thought it may be stress. After what was causing stress went away I was still losing handfuls of hair. I was trying hair loss shampoo, went to the Dr's who said maybe diabetes; got tested for that, nope. I started getting super depressed, not that hair is everything, but it for sure is a confidence killer to be balding. No history of balding in the family either for men or women. Allegra made my heart race, so I asked my doctor to be switched to something with fewer side effects. I then I took Xyzal for about 7 months, while it did reduce my allergies the side effects were devastating. I gained weight. I was tired all the time. My heart rate went up. My joint's ached. My doctor started checking me for thyroid conditions, I had an EKG that showed nothing. I now suspect it was the Xyzal. I am very unhappy with this pill. I have had irregular bleeding accompanied by moderate to severe cramping, depression and feelings of detachment, my breasts have hurt nonstop for 2 months, and for the first time in my life I have acne.

I am using it for almost 2 months - 250 mg twice daily. It definitely have some effect both on libido enhancing and erectile dis-function. But I am not sure whether it has any adverse effect on prostate with long term effect.

I was prescribed dexamethasone for severe inflammation in my tonsils when I had mononucleosis. I was unable to swallow and had difficulty breathing due to my enlarged tonsils, but the dexamethosone improved the swelling significantly very quickly. It made me very hungry, but I had also lost a lot of weight from my illness, so this side effect was not bad for me.
