I also had to switch from loestrin because of insurance and so far this pill has proved to be horrible. I have horrible migraines and stomach aches and my moods are incredibly up and down. I am extremely emotional and impatient and this is not like me at all! Also I've been very low energy and constantly feel like I need to sleep. This is month 3 and I'm calling it quits..

I have suffered from migraine's and daily headaches for the last 30 years and am currently seeing a specialist who has come to the end of their recommendations. Last year I visited the US and whilst out witout my usual headache medication bought the Excedrin Extra Strength Express Gels. The blood clot potential is very high relative to the same side effect in other birth control tablets. I think the testing process should be extended by the FDA to ensure consumer safety.

When I switched to Microgestin I started getting extreme dry mouth, especially at night time when laying down. I will wake up in the middle of the night and my mouth/gums will be completely dry to the point where I can't make my own saliva. Also, I've gained a lot of weight since taking it. This medication does not alleviate any cold symptoms except congestion. The taste is awful and causes a complete loss in appetite. Only used a few times then switched to another, better cold medicine.
